New Places to Eat on the Boardwalk 2016

Each year brings new food and places to eat on the Wildwood boardwalk. Here’s a quick tour of new eateries to look forward to on the boards this year.

Little Angelo’s Pizza Spot

Located on the stretch of boardwalk between Surfside and Mariner’s pier, Little Angelo’s Pizza Spot serves up the usual pizza shop classics: sandwiches, wraps, italian sausage, gyros, pasta, salad and, of course, pizza. They’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner,

Texas Wieners

A “south philly original since 1923,” Texas Wieners offers a variety of hot dogs including toppings such as cheese, cole slaw, chili, tomatoes, pickles, hash browns, peppers and more. In addition to their dogs, they also serve burgers, fish cakes and milkshakes to hungry customers in North Wildwood.

Ice & Hot Teppanyaki

The most exotic new spot on the boardwalk, Ice & Hot Teppanyaki serves a dessert that we would describe as thin, curled wraps of ice cream. It is very similar to a small, thin cannoli in size and shape. Watching ice teppanyaki be prepared is half the fun — the ice cream is placed on a cold stone and wrapped up right before your eyes (see photo below!). Flavors include pina colada, mango tango, very berry and matcha green tea, among others.

In addition to their ice cream treats, they also serve teppanyaki chicken.

Taco on the Run

Taco on the Run, located right on the boardwalk in the Boardwalk Mall, serves one thing and one thing only: Walking Tacos. If you’ve never heard of or tried a walking taco, the recipe is pretty simple; take a bag of fritos (Taco on the Run also offers tortilla or bay seasoned chips), add taco toppings into the bag, mix it up and eat it all with a spork. Topping options include beef, chicken, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, cheese and more. Based on extensive testing, we have determined you can indeed simultaneously walk and eat a “walking taco”.

Steve’s Grilled Cheese and Quesadilla Co.

Taking over the former Santino’s Pizza location (RIP Santino’s), Steve's Griled Cheese and Quesadilla Co. features a very cheesy menu -- and we mean that in a good way -- We're talking grilled cheese sandwiches with toppings like mac and cheese, cheesesteak or chicken. Also on the menu: loaded french fries, fried pickles, nachos and "grilled peanut butter." Perhaps most remarkable, is that Steve's also serves salads. Didn't see that coming. Pictured below is a queso "Little Bomb" -- breaded and fried mac and cheese topped with -- you guessed it -- more cheese.
