Biography

Biography:
Sam’s Pizza Palace, family owned and operated since 1957, is one of Wildwood's most famous pizzerias and a favorite among locals and summer visitors. Located on the south side of 26th and the Boardwalk, Sam's serves up a simple menu of pizza (including plain, pepperoni and white broccoli) as well as birch beer with crushed ice.

Sam Sperra and his wife immigrated to Trenton, NJ in 1951 where Sam opened a “Lunch Truck” serving sandwiches as well as homemade soups. After a visit to Wildwood, Sam decided to open a steak sandwich shop on the Wildwood boardwalk at 24th Street. Before long, Sam purchased a small pizza oven and started selling pizzas to hungry boardwalk walkers. Sam's was soon so popular that he moved into a larger restaurant (where it is still located today) and focused on pizza-making. The rest is history.

If you don't like it, you're a jealous hater. It's easily the best and the long lines (even in the dead of winter) prove that.

Great pizza. The sauce and cheese ratio is on point. The crust is very tasteful..

Dry, cardboard texture of crust. Generic, canned tasting sauce. Light on cheese. I had heard so much about how this was the best on the boardwalk. I couldn’t even finish my slice. Basically inedible.

I have never seen the thrill of Sams Pizza. Lines form, overcrowded dining room with terrible service. Sams pizza ranks low in good tasting pizza but high in rude staff. Sams pizza tastes like a pizza kit. Dried out with very thin layer of sauce and cheese. Mostly crust. Not this time Uncle Sam.

Old family favorite. Must be paired with ice-chipped birchbeer.

Definitely a 5. The best pizza on the Wildwood's boardwalk.

I love this place. The best pizza on the boardwalk, maybe the best pizza anywhere. The simple joy of being in Wildwood on the boardwalk certainly adds to the experience.

Never have been a fan of Sams Pizzza. They all have really bad attitudes in there (and thats before the summer help starts!) I don't see the draw in it It tastes like frozen pizza from dollar tree!
