The Best Wildwood Slices 2026
1st Place: Steak ‘Em Up – 4.6
With its 2026 victory, Steak ‘Em Up becomes the first pizzeria in Wildwood Pizza Tour history to win three straight years in a row. Back-to-back was rare enough. Three straight is a new level, and it wasn’t particularly close — a 4.63 out of 5 average is the highest score we’ve recorded 2005 & 2006, putting this year’s slice comfortably ahead of the rest of the field.
Here’s the part that makes this one even more impressive: Steak ‘Em Up was the 21st and final slice of the night. Four hours and nearly two miles of boardwalk after we started, with 20 other slices behind us, you’d maybe wonder if enthusiasm for pizza would have waned. But that has never been the case, especially with a slice this. This slice didn’t just hold up as the last stop of the evening, it blew away everything that came before it and closed out the night as the undisputed favorite.
This isn’t a hot streak or a lucky night — it has been three straight years and the results speak for themselves: 1st in 2024, 1st in 2025, and now 1st in 2026.
Congrats to Steak ‘Em Up on a genuinely historic three-peat. If you haven’t made the trek up to 17th and the Boardwalk yet, this is about as strong a recommendation as we can give you.

2nd Place: Franconi’s Pizza – Avg: 4.0
Franconi’s Pizza pulled off one of the biggest turnarounds of the night. After finishing in the middle of the pack at 11th place in 2025, this slice jumped back into our top 2 — a reminder of exactly why Franconi’s has been a Pizza Tour favorite many years since it opened at Oak and the Boardwalk back in 2006.
Located right across from Mariner’s Landing and the famous Wildwood ferris wheel, Franconi’s has built its reputation on two things: quality and quantity. True to form, this year’s slice was the single largest of our entire top 5 — a full 40 square inches of pie — and the cheese-to-sauce balance was exactly the kind of consistent, reliable slice that’s earned Franconi’s Best Slice and Best Value Slice honors multiple times over the years.

3rd Place: Olympic Flame – Avg: 4.0
Olympic Flame had been in our top-5 for 14 straight years. And they’ve held down a top-2 spot for five consecutive years running before that — a streak no other pizzeria on the boardwalk could match.
That streak ends this year, but only on a tie-breaking technicality: this slice actually improved on last year’s score, climbing from a 3.8 to a 4.0, and simply got edged out by a 3-way tie for second place, with the tie broken by price.
The slice was, as always, defined by its flavorful cheese and pan-cooked, crisp yet light and fluffy dough. Consistency has been Olympic Flame’s calling card for years, and that held true again this time around.
Still a top-3 slice on the boardwalk six years running — thanks for never letting us down, Olympic Flame.

4th Place: Toscana’s Pizzeria – Avg: 4.0
Toscana’s Pizzeria made its Wildwood Pizza Tour debut in style, walking straight into the top 5 on its first appearance. Located on the North Wildwood end of boardwalk at the former location of our beloved XO Pizza, it’s a bit of a walk from the main strip — but this slice made the trip worth it.
It also carried the highest price tag of our top 5 (and on the boardwalk) at $4.15, but the size and quality backed it up. We don’t care about price — we care about flavor. A strong first showing — we’ll be watching to see if Toscana’s can keep this up next year.

5th Place: Mack’s Pizza – Avg: 3.75
Mack’s Pizza is back in the top 5 after just barely falling off the list in 2025 with a 6th place rating.
The thin crust, unmistakable cheese blend and flavorful sauce were all present and accounted for — the classic Mack’s profile that’s kept this slice a fan favorite for all these years.
Mack’s has only been NOT been in our top-5 four times in 20 years. This is a boardwalk institution with over 70 years of history and their slice consistently reminds us why they’ve been a fixture.

Best Value Slice (Taste, Price & Size)
In addition to our taste rating, we also record price and slice measurements to determine the best value slice. We have a special in-house formula to determine best value called P3R (Pizza to Price to Points Ratio) = Slice Area * (Points / Price).
1. Franconi’s Pizza – Value Rating (P3R) = 53.33
When it comes to sampling all the boardwalk slices, price and slice size are recorded but never a factor in our rating process. Only after the tour do these metrics play a role, especially for calculating what the best value slice on the boardwalk is — that is, which slice offers the best combination of flavor, affordability and size.
Franconi’s already cracked our top 2 overall this year (see above), and it turns out that same slice is also the single best value on the entire boardwalk. A big 40-square-inch slice at just $3.00 — tied for the cheapest price of the night — adds up to a P3R score that runs away from the rest.

Largest Wildwood Pizza Slices
Some days, you spend so much time walking the boards, catching waves, and having fun in the Wildwoods, that you’re starving and just want to get your hands on the biggest slice you can possibly find. We know exactly what it’s like and we’ve got you — these are the largest slices we found on the boardwalk for 2026! If you normally order two slices, maybe start with one and go from there with these pizzerias!
1. Sorrento II – 11.0 x 8.0 in. (44.00 sq. in.)
Sorrento II backed up a genuinely great year with the single largest slice we measured on the boardwalk this year — a belt-busting 11.0 x 8.0 inch cut!
And it wasn’t just size — the slice held up on taste too, rating a 3.75 and finishing 6th overall out of 21 pizzerias, its best rating since Sorrento won the very first two Pizza Tours back in 2005 and 2006 (though worth mentioning it RANKED #4 overall best slice in 2025). Combined with its $4.00 price tag, that also makes this our 2nd Best Value slice of 2026.
Other giant slices on the boardwalk for 2026 include Founder’s, Hot Spot Restaurant @ Oak, Franconi’s, and Snow White.

Other Improved & Bounce-Back Slices
Crazy Junky, Hot Spot Restaurant & Pizzeria
Crazy Junky put together one of the biggest jumps of the entire tour this year, climbing from 14th place in 2025 (a 2.2 out of 5) all the way up to 8th place in 2026 with a 3.63 rating — more than a point and a half higher than last year. This slice was noticeably better across the board, and it shows.
Hot Spot Restaurant & Pizzeria also bounced back in a big way, jumping from a 15th place finish in 2025 (2.0 out of 5) to 9th place this year with a solid 3.0 rating. A six-spot jump and a full point of improvement is nothing to sneeze at — we love to see this!

Most Controversial Slices
While some slices are rated very similar by the Pizza Tour reviewers, some have mixed, or sometimes very mixed, opinions. So, which slices were the most controversial this year?
Sam’s Pizza Palace, Olympic Flame, Skinny Joey’s & Wally’s Corner
Sam’s Pizza Palace takes the crown for most controversial slice of 2026, with a full 2.5 point spread between our highest and lowest scores. Brian and Chris each gave this slice a respectable 3.0, while Frank came in at just 0.5 — a massive gap for the same slice, tasted on the same night.
Three more slices tied for a 2.0 point spread. Olympic Flame saw Frank’s 5.0 clash with Tim’s 3.0. Skinny Joey’s, a first-year boardwalk debut, split the room with Brian and Chris at 3.5 against Frank’s 1.5. And Wally’s Corner saw Frank’s 2.5 go up against Tim’s rock-bottom 0.5.
The reason for this category is to pique your and our curiosity — these slices might be worth a try when next on the boards.
